Diagnostic Assessment (DA) and Rehabilitation Services
A diagnostic assessment that supports rehabilitation and recovery:
- Explains why the diagnosis/illness is affecting this person in this specific way.
- Points to the major areas of functional impairment
- Establishes who this person is and how the diagnosis interferes with this person’s life
A recipient may receive a DA at several points in the Minnesota service system.
In most cases, the DA is performed outside of the rehabilitation service.
The DA must establish the presence of an eligible diagnosis.
