Eligibility Basics: Who is eligible for MA-EPD?

To be eligible for MA-EPD a person must:

grey bullet Be certified disabled by either the Social Security Administration or the State Medical Review Team.

grey bullet Be employed and have required taxes withheld or paid from earned income.

grey bullet Have gross monthly earnings of more than $65.

grey bullet Not be eligible for Medical Assistance under other, more beneficial categories.

grey bullet Meet the asset limit. The asset limit for MA-EPD is $20,000, regardless of household size.

grey bullet Pay a premium, beginning at $35 per month (based on monthly earned income) plus an additional one half percent of any unearned income that is received or they must meet a premium payment exemption.

grey bullet Be enrolled in and maintain Medicare, if eligible.
