Eligibility Basics: Who is eligible for MA-EPD?
To be eligible for MA-EPD a person must:
Be certified disabled by either the Social Security Administration or the State Medical Review Team.
Be employed and have required taxes withheld or paid from earned income.
Have gross monthly earnings of more than $65.
Not be eligible for Medical Assistance under other, more beneficial categories.
Meet the asset limit. The asset limit for MA-EPD is $20,000, regardless of household size.
Pay a premium, beginning at $35 per month (based on monthly earned income) plus an additional one half percent of any unearned income that is received or they must meet a premium payment exemption.
Be enrolled in and maintain Medicare, if eligible.
