The Special Income Standard (SIS)
The SIS amount is equal to three times the Supplemental Security Income Federal Benefit Rate (FBR). It is updated annually in January when the FBR is updated.A determination of whether a client’s income is equal to or below the Special Income Standard (SIS) must be completed for all EW clients.
To Do: Go into the Eligibility Policy Manual to find the SIS gross monthly income limit (standard) amount for 2023 and enter it in Step 2 of the handout SIS-EW. Hint.
