Disability Waiver Example

On June 28, Calliope requests MA-LTC through the CAC waiver.  Services are anticipated to begin July 1, based on the LTCC.  She is a current MA enrollee using MA Method FCA to determine her income eligibility and does not have a spenddown.  By changing her income calculation to MA Method ABD, Calliope will have a monthly spenddown of $100.

Action:

Change the income calculation in July from MA Method A to MA Method ABD beginning for August, the first month that you are able to give 10-day notice to change the spenddown amount.
