Calculating Net Income

The following deductions and disregards may be applied to a client’s gross income when using the MA Method B income calculation. These deductions and disregards must be applied in the order listed below. Refer to the Eligibility Policy Manual for more information about each of these.

Unearned Income Deductions and Disregards:

• Disabled Widow/Widower Disregard.
• Widow/Widower Disregard.
• Pickle Disregard.
• Disabled Adult Child Disregard.
• RSDI COLA Disregard.
• PASS Deduction.

Earned Income Deductions and Disregards:

• PASS Deduction.
• Blind Disabled Student Child Disregard.
• $65 Earned Income Disregard.
• Work Expense for disabled basis of eligibility.
• One-half of remaining earned Income.
• Work Expense for blind basis of eligibility.
