Use Sinclair’s case information to answer the following questions.

1. What is Sinclair’s MA basis of eligibility?

Disabled. He has verified his disability by providing a copy of his RSDI, disability award letter. Although Sinclair is disabled, he may choose instead to use the MA Method A parent/caretaker basis of eligibility for last month because Dion, a child and his grandson, is living in the household. We will be using the disabled basis of eligibility for training purposes but you must keep in mind that a client may use any basis of eligibility for which they meet the qualifications in months prior to the month MA-LTC begins.

2. Has Sinclair provided a Social Security number (SSN)?

Yes, Sinclair has provided an SSN. The SSN will be verified through a data exchange with the SSA.

3. Has Sinclair provided proof of his citizenship and identity?

No, however, Sinclair is exempt from this requirement due to his receipt of RSDI, disability benefits. You will be completing the required case note in the MA-LTC Systems classroom course regarding the exemption from this requirement due to receipt of RSDI, disability benefits.

4. Does Sinclair meet Minnesota residency requirements?

Yes, Sinclair lives in Minnesota and intends to remain in the state while residing in his St. Paul home.
