Conjunction Asset Policies

There are two additional MA-LTC asset policies that must be applied to help determine an MA-LTC client’s asset total.

A client who is required to complete an asset evaluation
An evaluation of all non-excluded assets owned individually or jointly by a married couple when making a request for certain MA-LTC services. The assessment determines the amount of assets available to each spouse when the LTC spouse requests MA-LTC, which in turn determines if the LTC spouse is within the MA asset limit.
will have their total countable assets determined using information calculated during the asset evaluation. More specific policies are provided in the Asset Assessment course.

When a person has an LTC insurance policy that is an LTC Partnership (LTCP) policy, the client may have additional assets excluded based on LTC Partnership requirements. More information about the LTCP is provided in an LTC/Waiver course of the same name.
