Parental Fee

A parental fee, per the EPM, is collected because a child's income is not considered when deciding eligibility. Therefore, parents must share the cost of care by paying a parental fee. Parents may be liable for a fee to reimburse part of their children's costs in any of the following situations:

• The custodial parents do not live with their minor children.

• The parents’ income is not considered in determining eligibility. (CAC, CADI, DD or BI).

Do not deny or close a child’s health care coverage because a parent does not cooperate with parental fee requirements.
