Karen’s Calculation Steps –
Karen is a family member living with the community spouse.

Step 1: Karen’s monthly income is $0.

Step 2: The result of subtracting the community spouse minimum monthly income allowance is $2,466.

Step 3: Karen’s family allocation amount is $822. ($2,466 ÷ 3).

Kyle’s Calculation Steps –
Kyle is a child not living with the community spouse.

Step 1: Kyle’s monthly income is $500.

Step 2: The 100% FPG standard for a household of one is $1,215.

Step 3: Kyle’s family allocation amount is $715. ($1,215 -$500).
