In this online course we will discuss Minnesota State Statute 245.4874 subdivision 14 as well as other statutes that specify who within the Child Welfare and Juvenile Justice populations are mandated to be offered a children’s mental health screen.  We will describe the target population, who is exempted from screening, when we encourage workers to re-screen youth, how to administer each of the 5 Department of Human Services approved screening tools, how to record the screen in the appropriate computer documentation program and finally, provide a link to the Department of Human Services on-line course for the Data Privacy and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, otherwise known as HIPAA).
