In this section of the on-line course, we will go over the different screening tools, how to administer the screening and how to discuss the results of the screen to the youth and families.
The Department of Human Services has selected 5 screening tools because of their psychometric and application properties such as:
- Sensitivity.
- Specificity.
- Reliability.
- Validity.
- Brevity.
- Minimal or no cost.
- Targeted populations.
- Easy scoring.
- Cultural/linguistic strength.
- Covers identified age span.
- Easy to administer.
