Welcome to Crisis Communications, the second chapter in the Intervention module. This section begins with a discussion of mobile crisis intervention then provides a reference that will help you when receiving crisis calls. You will also be given information relating to safety concerns and responsibilities as a crisis responder.
This chapter also describes the seven parts of active listening skills and then provides video examples for you to view that demonstrate the crisis responder and the person relationship using active listening. Read over the quick definition of each skill set in the active listening section. Then review the video to observe and identify the listening techniques used in each of the active listening examples.
