The third content element is the link to the mental illness if there is one. This needs to be addressed in all domains except Mental Health Symptoms. When determining whether there is a link to the mental illness, the provider first needs to ensure they have readily available resources about how the consumer experiences their mental illness. These resources would include a current diagnostic assessment, description of symptoms and details about the unique experiences the consumer has regarding their mental illness.
