MA-EPD clients can have concurrent eligibility with other programs at the following times:
An MA-EPD client with an eligibility type of DP can be concurrently eligible for QMB and SLMB. MA-EPD is potentially available to enrollees in the following home and community-based waiver programs:
Community Alternative Care (CAC).
Community Alternatives for Disabled Individuals (CADI).
Developmental Disabilities (DD).
Brain Injury (BI).
Elderly Waiver
MA-EPD clients cannot have concurrent eligibility with other programs at the following times:
An MA-EPD client cannot be concurrently eligible for the QI program on an ongoing basis. MA-EPD and QI can overlap only if the client is currently receiving QI and has requested MA-EPD to cover a retroactive period. If MA-EPD eligibility will continue beyond the month in which eligibility is approved, QI must be closed for the first month in which a 10-day notice can be issued. MA-EPD clients cannot be concurrently eligible for any of the following programs:
MinnesotaCare
Exception: MA-EPD may overlap with non-federally funded MinnesotaCare when a MinnesotaCare enrollee has MA-EPD eligibility approved.
Close MinnesotaCare for the first available month after approving MA-EPD.
Do not charge MA-EPD premiums for the months of overlap.
QWD.
Refugee Medical Assistance (RMA).
Alternative Care.
