The statute is specific about who is within the target population to screen in both Child Welfare and Juvenile Justice.
Child Welfare Populations includes children ages 3 months to 18 years who are:
- In traditional or family assessment Child Protection case management.
- In guardianship or adoption workgroup.
- Entering an out of home placement for 30 days or more (and not in Children’s Mental Health workgroup).
Juvenile Justice Population includes children ages 10 to 18 years who are:
- With a judicial finding of delinquency, according to Minnesota State Statute 260B.007, subdivision 6.
- Who have allegedly committed a delinquent act and who have had an initial detention hearing, with the court ordering the child continued in detention.
- Found to have committed a juvenile petty offense for the 3rd or subsequent time.
