Recognize the stages of burnout
Review the document on recognizing the four stages of burnout. Then if needed, apply the following recommendations:
- Take action to deal with your burnout.
- It’s okay to say you are having a difficult time.
- Talk to your supervisor and/or team for assistance.
- Take mini time-outs, such as taking the afternoon off or longer vacations.
- Cultivate pleasurable activities and hobbies that will offer you balance and peace.
- Develop a positive, nurturing support system.
- Set limits for yourself and others.
- Exercise regularly.
- Do not ignore burnout symptoms. Do something about them.
