MMIS RECIPIENT KEY PANEL - RKEY
RKEY is the key panel for the RECIPIENT FILE APPLICATION. Field entry on the RKEY panel defines search criteria within the RECIPIENT FILE APPLICATION.

How to complete fields on the RKEY panel
ACTION CODE field is required.
- Enter action code in the ACTION CODE field.
- I = INQUIRY mode is used to view information stored in MMIS. In this example I ( INQUIRY) is entered.
- A = ADD mode is used to create a new recipient. New recipients are added in MAXIS and interfaced with MMIS.
- C = CHANGE mode is used to change recipient's information. Changes are done in MAXIS and interfaced with MMIS.
- MMIS automatically advances cursor to the entry start of the RECIPIENT ID field.
RECIPIENT ID field valid value is recipient's Person Master Index (PMI) number .
- Enter PMI number for recipient in the RECIPIENT ID field.
- TRANSMIT to advance to RSUM panel and view recipient eligibility information.
How to complete fields to search for a person in MMIS
A combination of other information known about the person may be entered to search MMIS.
SSN, MEDICARE ID, RECIP LAST NAME, FIRST, INIT and DOB (date of birth) fields may be used to search for recipient in MMIS when PMI number is not known. TRANSMIT to advance to the selection screen, RSEL.
CASE NUMBER, CLIENT OPTION NBR and CASE TYPE fields may be used by designated security groups to search MMIS.
When fields other than the RECIPIENT ID field are used to identify the person, MMIS opens a selection screen. The worker is able to view recipients closest to the criteria entered on the RKEY panel on the selection screen. If not searching by PMI, It is always recommended to use as much detail as possible to refine the search.

MMIS navigation reminders
MMIS key panels display the NEXT field in the upper left corner of the screen.
- Enter a KEY panel acronym in the NEXT field.
- TRANSMIT to navigate to the KEY panel of another application.
