Time management
When you are being asked to do more with less, prioritize essential versus less important tasks by:
- Make a daily list of simple and realistic tasks.
- Prioritize the list by identifying today’s tasks with the letter A. Identify tasks which could wait till tomorrow with a letter B. Identify tasks of least importance with letter C.
- Carry the list with you and consult it often.
- Let your list be your guide. Adapt and revise your list as necessary.
- Make appointments with clients and keep them. If the client misses the appointment, make another one. The client will learn that you are reliable. Make sure that your client’s understand that you may have to prioritize clients with unforeseen urgent needs.
- Always ask yourself, “What is the best use of my time right now?”
- Do your A tasks first, then offer to help other people with their A tasks.
