
Like mental health clinical and rehabilitation services, MH-TCM services must be provided by mental health professionals or under the clinical supervision of a mental health professional per Minnesota Statute, which includes the Individual Community Support Plan.

In order to obtain Medicaid funding the clinical supervisor for MH-TCM must be a licensed independent mental health professional. This excludes rehabilitation professionals and allied field mental health professionals.
If the MH-TCM case manager is not a mental health professional (licensed independent mental health professional for MA reimbursement), the case manager must meet with the clinical supervisor at least monthly for the review of individual client cases and general review of case manager needs as noted in Minnesota Statute 245.462. 4 (d). There are additional clinical supervision requirements for case managers who are relatively new to mental health services provision in Minnesota Statute 245.462. Subd. 4. Case management service provider
