Adult MH-TCM ProcessWelcome to the Minnesota Adult Mental Health-Targeted Case Management (AMH-TCM) training curriculum.

This series of online modules is designed for the introductory training of new adult mental health-targeted case managers. These modules provide information about case management services, standards, practices and documentation.
This curriculum is meant to compliment the education that case managers have received in mental health such as:

  • Training and orientation provided by their employers.
  • Training and education provided by the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
  • Supervision provided by the case manager’s supervisor and clinical supervisor.
  • Additional education obtained through continued education.
  • Skills gained through years of providing adult mental health case management services.

This curriculum is not intended to provide all the information and skills needed for adult mental health case management services but serves as a starting point for new adult mental health case managers.

The curriculum is divided into five modules:

Module 1. Introduces adult mental health targeted case management, recovery principle, service eligibility and access, array of mental health services.

Module 2. Defines standards and regulations around the structure of adult mental health-targeted case management services.

Module 3. Describes the core service components of case management: assessment and planning.

Module 4. Describes the core service components of case management: referral and linkage, and coordination and monitoring.  Also, trains on documentation of services.

Module 5. Contains training on privacy, vulnerable adult, civil commitment, supervision, self-care and future training.
