Remember our training caseload? Two people on the caseload, Emily and Andreas, are requesting MA-LTC due to residence in an LTCF even though they both are enrolled in Medicare.
Medicare will be responsible to pay for Medicare-covered LTCF costs. If Emily and Andreas are eligible, MA-LTC will become the payor of last resort; after considering Medicare, other third party liability and their MA obligation toward their cost of care. More information about Medicare LTCF coverage will be provided in the MA-LTC Basics course.
