MMIS PROVIDER FILE APPLICATION
MMIS PROVIDER FILE APPLICATION contains information about all medical providers enrolled as Minnesota Health Care Program (MHCP) providers, including heath plans that are participating as managed care plans.
Information in this subsystem is used to ensure that only DHS enrolled providers are reimbursed for medical claims.
Providers are identified in MMIS by National Provider Index (NPI) or Unique Minnesota Provider Index (UMPI) number.
Both current enrollment status and history are stored in the PROVIDER FILE APPLICATION.
The kinds of provider information stored in MMIS include:
- Major program eligibility dates
- Specialty certifications and licenses
- Categories of service provider may offer
- Contact information
- Enrollment status
- Billing and warrant information
Provider information is entered into MMIS by DHS Provider Enrollment staff.
PROVIDER FILE APPLICATION is located in OTHER APPLICATIONS on the MMIS MAIN MENU.
