Normalization

Normalization occurs when an individual's wishes and expressed self-determination are understood and respected. Service plans should identify activities, resources and services that enhance opportunities to grow through normal life experiences :

• Normal rhythms of the day with a home, friends, privacy, activities and mutual responsibility.
• Normal rhythms of the week with school or work, leisure time and social interactions.
