Medical Support
You must also determine if a referral for medical support or a parental fee is required when a child is requesting MA-LTC. Make a referral in one or both of the following as the situation necessitates:
- Medical support when one or both parents do not live with the child. Adults requesting MA-LTC for themselves must cooperate with medical support when their MA dependent child meets the criteria for a referral.
EPM 2.1.1.2.1.3.1 MA Cost-Effective Health Insurance Definition: Health insurance coverage that a noncustodial parent provides, or is court-ordered to provide, to meet the medical needs of their child.- Parental fee when parental income is not deemed because of other policy provisions.
