After completing this module, can you answer the following questions?

1. Which MA-LTC clients have an LTC spenddown?

People requesting MA-LTC who reside in an LTCF or who are requesting LTC services through the EW who have a community spouse and whose income is in excess of the SIS.

2. How is the LTC spenddown determined?

The LTC spenddown is the income remaining after the LTC income calculation is completed.

3. What amount is the client responsible to pay?

The LTC spenddown amount. The LTCF will refund the client the amount of the LTC spenddown amount in excess of Medicare Part A reimbursements.
