When to Evaluate Annuities
You will review annuities reported by an applicant based on the MA-LTC annuity requirements after you have determined thatthe person requesting MA-LTC has met the basic MA eligibility requirements. Do not apply the MA-LTC annuity requirements if the applicant does not meet the basic MA eligibility requirements.
Evaluate annuities based on the MA-LTC annuity requirements whenever an applicant or enrollee meets the requirements for basic MA and:
- A new request for MA-LTC is received.
- A renewal is being processed for an MA-LTC enrollee.
- A change in an annuity is reported, such as a purchase or annuitization of a current annuity.
