Five Main Points

1. Case managers need to be resources experts.
2. A case manager is the client’s advocate in negotiating a fragmented resource service system.
3. One of the major parts of a case manager’s role is coordinating with the client’s network of resources and services, frequently without the client.
4. Documentation. If it’s not documented it didn’t happen.
5. Partnering with the client in documentation of plans and services add value to the client’s recovery efforts.
