Case managers need to obtain skills to negotiate with providers and resource agencies and to mediate difficult situations with clients.

This often involves convening and facilitating conference meetings of providers, resource representatives, client’s family, and client to review goals, progress, roles, responsibilities and to diminish conflicts, build consensus and make revisions to the ICSP.
