Emily Anderson
Emily (age 89) is requesting MA payment of LTC services for residence in a long-term care facility (LTCF). She began receiving skilled nursing facility services while hospitalized and was discharged from the hospital directly to Bethany Care Center, an LTCF. Emily is currently enrolled in Medicare Parts A, B and D.
Prior to being hospitalized, Emily lived in her own home with her daughter, Patricia.
Emily’s case will introduce you to MA-LTC policy and procedures as they apply to a person residing in an LTCF.
