Andreas Malone
Andreas (age 78) is a current MA/QMB enrollee who is entering the Lyngblomsten Care Center, a long-term care facility (LTCF). He is requesting MA payment of LTC services. Andreas has rented an apartment from his niece, Camellia, and her family, for the past ten years.
Andreas receives SSI due to his age. He is currently enrolled in Medicare Parts A, B and D. QMB covers the cost of his Medicare Parts A and B premiums, and Extra Help pays for his Medicare Part D premium.
Andreas’ case will continue your introduction to MA-LTC policy and procedures as they apply to a person residing in an LTCF.
