You have learned throughout the MA-LTC course sequence that in order for a person to be eligible for MA-LTC the person must first meet all MA eligibility requirements. In the MA-LTC Basics course you were reminded that third party liability (TPL)
Reminder icon. Certain third party individuals, entities or programs are or may be liable to pay all or part of the medical costs provided to MHCP enrollees. Third party liability sources include:
  • Other health coverage, including LTC insurance.
  • Medical support.
  • Automobile insurance.
  • Court judgments or settlements.
  • Worker’s compensation.
is an eligibility requirement that must be applied to determine MA eligibility. Thus, in order for a person to be eligible for MA-LTC they must meet all TPL requirements.
