Navigation Function in MMIS
Keyboard Key Location
TRANSMITAdvances to the next MMIS screen. RIGHT CTRL key or ENTER key on the far right of the keyboard next to the number pad. NUM LOCK must be on for ENTER key to perform TRANSMIT function. TABMoves cursor from field to field within MMIS screen and places cursor at field start to begin entering data. TAB key at left of keyboard. SHIFT + TABMoves cursor back one field. Hold shift key and repeat pressing Tab key to move back additional fields. SHIFT key on either side of alpha keys and TAB key at left of keyboard. ARROW KEYSMoves cursor in the direction of arrow one space at a time. There is no visual cue for data entry start point. Use the TAB key to assure cursor is at start point to begin entering data. ARROW keys located between number pad and alpha keys. CARRIAGE RETURNMoves cursor down one line or to next enterable line on MMIS screens. CARRIAGE RETURN key is the Enter key with left-pointing curved arrow on the right side of the alpha keys. DELETERemoves one character each time Delete key is pressed. DELETE key is located between number pad and alpha keys above arrow keys. ENDRemoves all characters in a MMIS field by pressing End key once. END key is located between number pad and alpha keys above arrow keys. HOMEMoves cursor to the entry start of the NEXT field located at the top left corner of MMIS screens. HOME key is located between number pad and alpha keys above arrow keys. SPACE BARDO NOT use space bar to move cursor field to field on a screen. Pressing the Space Bar creates an invisible character that MMIS may read as a field entry error. Use the TAB key to move cursor field to field. ONLY use the space bar as you normally would when entering text on a comment screen. SPACE BAR is located below the alpha keys in the center of the keyboard.
