Documenting Evidence-Based Practices (EBP)

Many evidence-based practices incorporate multiple types of interventions, clinical as well as rehabilitation.

Care should be taken to ensure that interventions billed as rehabilitation are clearly rehabilitation.

Some interventions are always clinical and should be billed as such by staff credentialed to deliver clinical services.

DBT and IDDT are examples of evidence-based practices that incorporate both rehabiliitative and clinical interventions.

With any curriculum-based program, care must be taken to ensure that a recipient’s assessment and treatment plan support each of the segments or classes from that curriculum.
