Introduction

The result of every income calculation is the client’s obligation. This course will provide policy regarding four different types of client obligations used in determining MA-LTC eligibility and methods available to pay these obligations.  The client obligation types discussed in this course are:

• Medical spenddowns.
• LTC spenddowns.
• Combination LTC/medical spenddowns.
• Waiver obligations.

Refer to the Eligibility Policy Manual for information regarding MA-LTC clients who have a premium due to eligibility for MA-EPD.
