Verifying LTC Screening Completion
When determining MA-LTC eligibility for a person, you must verify that an institutional level of care is required, as determined through the LTC screening. The type of verification you need is different for an LTCF placement than for a request for services through a waiver program. These will be discussed in the next two modules.
MA will not pay for the costs of LTCF placement or boarding care services if LTC services are received prior to the MMIS Assessment Result (screening) date indicated on the LTC Screening Document for a person residing in an LTCF or receiving services through a waiver.
