Elderly Waiver

The household size you will use for a person requesting services through the Elderly Waiver is not dependent on whether or not the client has a community spouse.

Community Spouse.

Use a household size of one in the month EW services are anticipated to begin when the client does have a community spouse.

No Community Spouse.

Use a household size of one in the month EW services are anticipated to begin when the client does not have a community spouse.

MSP Household Size.

Use a household size of one when determining MSP eligibility for all months in which the client receives or is anticipated to receive EW services.

For other people in the EW client’s household, follow basic MA rules for determining the MA or MSP household size.
