Juleene, a Medicare enrollee, had an LTCC on June 22 and was determined to need Elderly Waiver services. She requests MA-LTC on June 23, and is requesting coverage back to May 1. Juleene lives with her husband, Jeffrey. Jeffrey, also a Medicare enrollee, is also requesting MA coverage back to May 1.

Juleene: Use a household size of 2 for MA and MSP eligibility because she did not have the LTCC until June. Jeffrey is counted in her household size.

Jeffrey: Use a household size of 2 for MA and MSP eligibility. Juleene is counted in Jeffrey’s household size.

Juleene: Use a household size of 1 for MA and MSP eligibility because she has a current LTCC that was completed on June 22. Jeffrey is not counted in her household size.
