MA-LTC Verification Requirements

In addition to verifications required for basic MA, there are also additional required verifications needed to apply the annuity requirements for MA-LTC. Applicants must cooperate in providing verification in order to be eligible for payment of LTC services.

The date of purchase can help us determine if an annuity transaction has occurred.

FYI icon. Date of Annuitization:

When a person annuitizes an annuity, a lump sum of money is converted to a number of payments over a period of time. If the applicant or their spouse does not receive a full return on the invested money within a certain time period an uncompensated transfer may have occurred. The date of annuitization is the date the uncompensated transfer occurred.

Interest earned on the annuity adds to the value of an annuity.

The details of how funds are paid from an annuity and the settlement option are used to determine if an uncompensated transfer has occurred.
