Evaluating the Annuity

You must evaluate each annuity owned by the applicant or their spouse to determine whether DHS must be designated as the PRB.  Review each annuity to determine if three conditions are met.  If all three of the conditions are met, DHS must be designated as the preferred remainder beneficiary (PRB) in order for the applicant to be eligible for MA-LTC. 

Remember! You must evaluate annuities based on the MA-LTC annuity requirements at the time of request for MA-LTC, at the time an MA-LTC enrollee is renewing coverage, or when a change in an annuity occurs.
