Identifying the LTC Spouse
Once you have identified that an MA-LTC client has a spouse, your next step is to identify whether the client can be qualified as an LTC spouse. An LTC spouse is a person married to a community spouse who either:
- Resides in or is expected to reside in an LTCF for at least 30 consecutive days, or
- Requests, receives, or is expected to receive services through a home and community based Elderly Waiver program for at least 30 consecutive days, and has had an LTCC that demonstrates the individual requires an institutional level of care.
