Emily is single. She does not have a community spouse.

Because Emily does not have a community spouse we know that an asset assessment is not required to determine Emily’s eligibility for MA-LTC.

To Do: Update the community spouse checkbox found in section one of page one of Emily’s DHS-5590, MA-LTC Case Checklist, to indicate she does not have a community spouse. Then update the asset assessment checkbox found on the first section of page two of the DHS-5590 to indicate that an asset assessment is not required.

Based on the information already completed on Andreas’ MA-LTC Case Checklist, Andreas does not have a community spouse, in fact he is single.

Because Andreas does not have a community spouse, an asset assessment is not required.

To Do: Update Andreas’ DHS-5590, MA-LTC Case Checklist, to indicate an asset assessment is not required.

A community spouse determination is not required for Isabella.

Isabella is not required to complete an asset assessment because she is not married.

To Do: Update Isabella’s DHS-5590, MA-LTC Case Checklist, to indicate she does not have a community spouse and that an asset assessment is not required.
