Enrollment Process Differences for Special Products
The enrollment process and the effective date of enrollment for MA-LTC clients enrolling in MSHO and SNBC is different from the general enrollment process.
- MSHO and SNBC managed care enrollment is completed by either DHS or the health plan.
- For dual-eligible Medicare and MA enrollees, the effective date of enrollment into MSHO or the integrated product of SNBC (combines Medicare and Medicaid) is the first of the month following the month in which the enrollment process was completed, rather than the next available month. Because of this, it is very important for you to forward enrollment forms for these clients to DHS timely.
- For MA-only enrollees (this could include dual eligible not enrolling in MSHO or integrated SNBC), the effective date of enrollment into any of these products is the next available month.
- For MSC+ enrollment, follow the same process as you use for other managed care enrollments, including reviewing the form to be sure it is signed and completed, and that all MSC+ qualifications are met.
