Introduction to Long-Term Care Facilities and Waivers

What is the DD Waiver?

The Developmental Disability (DD) Waiver funds home and community-based services for children and adults with developmental disabilities or related conditions and who are determined to need Intermediate Care Facility for Persons with Developmental Disabilities or Related Conditions (ICF/DD) level of care or through a nursing facility.

The program is administered by the DHS Disability Services Division. A person may request funding of DD Waiver services through their county social services office.
