Not Partnership Policy

When the HealthQuest response indicates that the client’s LTC insurance policy is not a qualified Partnership policy you must:

  1. Determine MA-LTC eligibility without allowing the client to protect assets. The only cases that should not have been approved prior to receiving the HealthQuest response are cases in which the client had excess assets but met all other MA-LTC eligibility criteria.
  1. Notify the client of the decision using the notice text found on the LTCP Notice Text (PDF) handouts.  Send the text via a SPEC/MEMO if a MAXIS notice is not being sent or through worker comments if a MAXIS notice is being sent. The HealthQuest response will also include appropriate text for the notice or SPEC/MEMO.
  1. Enter a MAXIS case note with the LTCP information. The HealthQuest response will provide you with the information you must enter in the case note.

The HealthQuest Response – Not Partnership Policy (PDF) handout provides you with a flowchart to illustrate these steps in more detail. Flowcharts provide an overview of a process and should be used in conjunction with the affiliated processing steps handout.
