Sinclair and CAC
The CAC waiver may be appropriate for Sinclair.
- He is under age 65.
- He is disabled.
- His LTCC indicates he needs an institutional level of care. However, we do not know whether that level of care meets the qualifications for a hospital level of care which is required for the CAC waiver.
To be eligible for CAC, the waiver case manager must communicate that CAC is the appropriate waiver program for Sinclair. He would also need to meet all MA eligibility requirements, have an SSA or SMRT approved disability and meet the additional MA-LTC eligibility requirements such as meeting the home equity limit and annuity requirements and not being subject to a transfer penalty.
