LTC Screening and Waivers
As stated in the previous section, an institutional level of care, as documented via an LTCC, is required in order to determine MA-LTC for a person requesting services through the CAC, CADI, EW or BI waivers. A full team DD screening is required to determine MA-LTC for a person requesting services through the DD waiver.
In the Introduction to LTCFs and Waivers course you were provided with information about the type of support services provided by each of the waiver programs. The LTCC team determines which waiver is most appropriate for a person based on the type of services the person needs.
This section will provide you with information on how to verify that a client requires an institutional level of care by verifying the client received an LTCC or full team DD screening and how to communicate with the waiver case manager. The section will also provide you with information on when to make a referral to the LTCC team.
