MA-LTC Eligibility Requirements for CADI

A person requesting MA-LTC through the CADI Waiver must meet the following requirements to be eligible:

Be under age 65.

A person must be under age 65 at the time the waiver is approved. People who receive CADI waiver services may choose to either remain on CADI or begin EW services when they turn 65 years of age.

Be certified disabled by the Social Security Administration (SSA or the State Medical Review Team (SMRT.
Meet all MA eligibility requirements.

Meeting all MA eligibility requirements includes having countable assets within the asset limit, cooperating with third party liability requirements and providing citizenship and other mandatory verifications.

Require an institutional level of care as determined through a Long-Term Care Consultation (LTCC) completed within the past 60 calendar days which indicates that services are anticipated to begin within the next 30 days.
Have a home equity at or below the limit listed in EPM Appendix F (unless exempt).
Name DHS a preferred remainder beneficiary on certain annuities.
Not be subject to a transfer penalty.

When all of the eligibility criteria are met, the client’s obligation toward the cost of the LTC services will be determined.
