Gross Income
Use a client’s gross income to complete the income calculation, regardless of the type of income calculation being used. When determining a client’s gross income, do not consider excluded
Notice in the definition: unavailable income is not part of the client's gross income.
LTC and community income calculations use countable gross income, if the income is unavailable it would not be counted.
However, the LTC and community income calculations have different rules about some types of excluded income and the types of deductions and disregards applied to a client’s gross income. These topics will be discussed later in this course.
