Verification
As with all Minnesota Health Care Programs, verification of income is mandatory.
Income must be verified at:
- Request for MA-LTC.
- Renewal, including monthly renewals.
All clients must report changes in income within 10 days of the change. MA-LTC clients who use an LTC income calculation are required to verify income at the time a change in income is reported.
Some enrollees receive periodic payments. These enrollees are not required to renew monthly, but must verify all income.
When this happens, the enrollee may have a medical spenddown in which some of the medical expenses are LTC services. These LTC service costs, as well as the income, must be verified.
- An MA-LTC enrollee has a medical spenddown for Long-Term Care. Previously this was called a combination LTC/medical spenddown.
