Question 1.

Change Alma’s income calculation and basis of eligibility from MA Method FCA to MA Method ABD for the month of July, the month following the month the waiver services are anticipated to begin. She moves to an MA Method ABD income calculation because her EW services are anticipated to begin in June, she is not SIS-EW (her income is above the SIS) and she is single.

Note: If the change in income calculation results in an increased spenddown, a 10-day notice of the change must be provided.

Question 2.

Change Lola's MA Method FCA income calculation to an MA Method ABD income calculation for April, the month the waiver services are anticipated to begin.

Note: If the change in income calculation results in an increased spenddown, wait to make the change for May allowing time to provide a 10-day notice of the change.

Question 3.

Change Bessie’s MA Method ABD income calculation to an MA Method FCA income calculation for July. A 10-day notice cannot be given to make the change for June.

Question 4.

A change in Willard’s income calculation is not needed. Because he was receiving services through the EW we know that he is age 65 or older and will continue to use the MA Method ABD income calculation.
